Isbell Medical Group (IMG), Women’s and Children’s first opened our doors in 1960. For more than 50 years now we’ve provided patients in Fort Payne and other nearby Alabama communities with specialized compassionate medical care. From one generation to the next, women and children feel confident and glad to be under our care.

We provide healthcare in the fields of gynecology, obstetrics and pediatrics. Our eight medical staff consists of five Board Certified physicians, three in the fields of gynecology and obstetrics and two in pediatrics. We have three certified registered nurse practitioners.

Advantages of Using a Medical Group

IMG is a group practice, which means our physicians share facilities and use the same administrative staff and medical equipment. Medical groups tend to focus on a specialized medical practice area, and in our case, our two main healthcare specialties are obstetrics/gynecology and pediatrics.

There are advantages to seeing a doctor who is part of a medical group. For one thing, you have better access to a physician for assistance on weekends or after regular office hours. Medical groups generally have a doctor on call for emergencies. Also, as diagnostic services have become more sophisticated, the costs of providing the latest technologies and comprehensive care is more practically managed through a medical practice group.
